ONE TIME ONLY IN ZAGREB! Stand-up event featuring a rather unusual duo of professional comedians: Canadian-Croatian and a post-Yugoslav!
DEMI ELLIS aka CRONADIAN - is a comedian, producer, and sketch creator living and joking in Canada. She moved to Canada from Croatia in 2014 and started performing comedy in Toronto to improve her English. Demi’s routine is inspired by a clash of Croatian blunt and Canadian over-polite. With her unique storytelling style, Demi is introducing them to Eastern European customs one joke at the time.
Demi has been fascinated by cultural differences her whole life. She lived in four different countries and travelled through almost 30. This life experience inspired her to create Kulture Shock Comedy, a stand-up show that features immigrant comedians and their funniest culture shock stories.
PEDJA BAJOVIĆ aka THE BALKAN BRAIN - is a most-international stand-up comedian from the Balkans! It has lasted since 2005 and is still rolling! In the meantime Pedja performed in more than 35 countries of the world. He is one of the founders of the Croatian and Bosnian stand-up comedy scenes and a strong participant in the development of the circuits all around the region of former Yugoslavia.
Mostly a social critic and a satirist, a review had put him somewhere between Jack Dee and Louis C.K. (style, not quality!) and continued : “Although his eyes (eyeglasses included) are a constant observational tool and his index finger is always ready to point, he somehow constantly returns to his favorite subject – himself. He tends to be a dry one, but is working on more expressive ways, such as dancing on stage.” Apparently ladies dig it!
