Show Description:
From the grimy underbelly of northern comedy emerges a group of hilarious survivors. Featuring plucky upstarts and thoroughly seasoned idiots; the Usual Suspects exhibit all kinds of silliness. Jokes abound from this cavalcade of comedic chaos, musical mirth and spontaneous stupidity.
This time the show will feature:
Emma Crossland - Idiot, raconteur, prone to oversharing and old enough to know better, Emma tells stories of her inadequacies as an adult. Whimsical yet revolting, charming but awful.
“Emma was great! She had our audience in the palm of her hand from the start, taking them to some unexpected and very funny places.” - James Underwood, Arts at the Arms
Matt Fong - Matt is a natural born performer and has had people laughing his whole life but he started his adventures into stand up comedy in 2011, really late in the year. He is a quick witted charismatic comedian and audiences are instantly at ease with Matt’s relaxed style of delivery.
“Matt is half Chinese, half English but 100% funny as hell!” - Patrick Monahan
Saul Henry - Based in Harrogate, Saul is a regular performer and MC on stages across much of the North of England delivering 10, 20 and 30 minute sets; he also runs monthly and weekly gigs in Leeds - including the award winning weekly night Comedy Cellar at Verve.
“Very naturally funny” - Meryl O’Rourke
Stacy Mellor - Making a much anticipated return to the stand-up scene.
Silky - Free-wheeling stand up and barnstorming songs from one of the safest pairs of hands in the business. A triple threat: comedian, musician, improviser. No two shows are the same, but they’re all joyful.
You’ll laugh, you’ll be open-mouthed as he invents entire songs live, and you’ll be humming the tunes for years.
Overwhelmingly voted “Legend” at the inaugural Yorkshire Comedy awards.
“Absolutely brilliant. Great improviser, wonderful stand-up, beautiful singer” - Fred MacAulay, BBC Radio Scotland
