Show Description:

On Friday November 18th Comedy Dundee is bringing a quadruple-bill of professional stand-up comedians to Number 57, including the multi-talented musical comedy maestro MC Hammersmith, opener Sam Lake and Dundee local host Steve McLeod.
MC Hammersmith is a multi-award winning comedian and the world’s leading gangsta rapper to ever emerge from the ghetto of middle class west London. Under his belt he has the 2020 Scottish Comedy Award (Best Improv/Variety), the 2018 Scottish Comedy Award (Best Newcomer), and the 2017 UK Improv Smackdown Championship to name but a few. He was recently hand-picked to open for Jason Manford at an arena show. Jason is a braver man than us, we wouldn’t want to follow an act like this!
“An exceptionally dazzling performance… utterly enthralled” - The Skinny
“A shy, somewhat repressed ex-private school attendee… blazing through an incredible freestyle rap” - Wee Review
Opening the show will be Sam Lake. A regular at some of the biggest clubs up and down the country, you may have seen him on Dave’s ‘The Comedy Guide to Life’ and All4’s ‘The Joy of Missing Out’. He has won Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year and Hastings Fringe Newcomer of the Year. A consummate comedy writer, he has written jokes for Mock the Week and NewsJack
“Makes for fantastic company… A thoroughly engaging larger-than-life personality.” – Chortle
“Fabulous and worth going to see.” - TheatreReviews.design
Our middle act for the night is Martin Bearne. One of the best joke writers in Scotland, Martin is known for his one-liners that’ll have you in stitches; he performs in comedy clubs all over Scotland.
“Well thought out and featured a string of killer one-liners.” - The Scotsman
“A great comedian, not for the easily offended.” - Ellon Times
Hosting the night will be one of this city’s funniest sons, native Dundonian comedian Steve McLeod. Steve has opened for Tom Stade, Larry Dean and Gary Meikle.
“There’s a reason Steve has supported me more than once, he’s class and a rising star on the comedy scene” – Gary Meikle
“Dundee home grown talent… delightful.” – Visit Dundee
Entry is £10, for presales see Eventbrite. Terms and conditions apply.
When: Friday November 18th at 8pm. Doors open at 7pm.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
• Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred over to future shows. Tickets cannot be resold. Beware scammers claiming to have tickets for sale.
• Line-ups can be subject to change at short notice.
• The show is in three 30 minute parts separated by two intervals. Doors open at 7pm, one hour before the start time of 8pm. Please arrive before the show starts. Attendees who arrive more than 20 minutes late will not be granted admission or a refund.
• This is NOT a standing event. All audience members must be seated while the performance is underway, unless ordering at the bar or using the toilets. When ordering at the bar, please whisper.
• Entrance and exit is now via the side door only; please wait outside at the door for ticket check and to be seated by the doorman.
• You may have to share a table. You may not be able to sit together if the remaining chairs available are spread out. If it is important to you to sit with people you know, we recommend arriving as early as possible.
• Seating in the alcove at the back is reserved for the comedians and their guests only.
• Please don’t talk or heckle during the performances; it is very distracting for both the performer and other audience members. Some performers (usually the host) may invite audience interaction, but otherwise please let the comedians do the talking. Heckling does not ‘help the show’. Think of it like cinema rules: laughter, cheers, applause are all great, but talking or yelling out is not. And another cinema rule…
• Please put your phone on silent. Photos are fine but please no video or flash photography.
• These shows are for people aged 18 and over. Due to licencing 17 year olds can attend accompanied by a parent or guardian, but we cannot allow entry to those aged 16 and under, accompanied or not. You may be asked to show ID if you do not look of age.
• Comedy Dundee does not necessarily agree or disagree with the opinions and viewpoints expressed by the comedians. Acts are booked based on their ability to make people laugh, beyond that we respect freedom of expression. If you disagree or are offended by what you hear, you are free to express this by not laughing, by leaving, or by respectfully raising your objections with the act after the show or via social media. You may not interrupt an on-going performance.
• Exceptions to rules are at the discretion of Comedy Dundee. Audience members who repeatedly break these rules will be asked to leave.
