Show Description:
On April 21st it’s time for another Thursday night of next level hilarity at Number 57, this time featuring host Gus Lymburn and headliner Scott Agnew.
Scott Agnew is a critically acclaimed 20 year veteran of the stand-up circuit both nationally and internationally, has been a guest on BBC Scotland’s Comedy Underground and regular panellist on BBC Radio Scotland’s Breaking The News. His comedy CV is as packed as his work diary, having won Scottish Comedian of the Year, Best Show 2017 and nominated for Best Headliner 2018 at the Scottish Comedy Awards. Other gongs include Winner of Icon Entertainer of The Year 2017, 2020 Proud Scotland Entertainer of The Year Award and Attitude Magazines 84th Most Eligible Gay Bachelor In The World 2017 (still single but inexplicably dropped out the chart run down).
“No one has anecdotes quite like Scott Agnew. His stories of bizarre, drug fuelled sexual excess make Russell Brand look like In The Night Garden… a shockingly entertaining and eye opening show." - Chortle
“Master storyteller, with broad appeal, the jokes fit like a glove… truly unmissable.” – Chortle
“Tough, funny, original” - Attitude
“Electrifying” – Guardian
Your host for the evening is Gus Lymburn, an award-winning comedian without a rulebook. In an age where many audiences have come to expect much of the same, Lymburn insists that disorganisation and surprise is all part of the fun. You will have seen him on BBC’s Comedy Underground, or at any number of his sold-out hit Edinburgh Fringe shows. He has been crowned Best Compere at the Scottish Comedy Awards, and was chosen as national tour support for Jim Smith.
“Unpredictable, hilarious, a seriously amazing comedian” - The Herald
“His witty alternative-meets-python material brought unbridled tears of joy” – The Scotsman
“Charming and disturbing in equal measure” - Entz24
Scott and Gus will be joined on stage by opening act Amanda Hursy and open spots Bryce Drennan and Ryan Ford.
