Come along to Edinburgh’s Banshee Labyrinth on the 2nd Wednesday of every month for the Open Improv Night!
Open Improv Night is an informal, fun, safe, open and FREE night of improv run by Will Naameh, Paul Connolly and Box.
Anyone can sign up for a slot to perform anything with anyone! The only criteria is it must be completely (or mostly) improvised.
The Scottish improv scene is rapidly expanding, and this is a place for improvisers new and seasoned to try new and different things. Want to try a new improv format, perform with different people, or even improvise for the first time? This is a safe, supportive and experimental night for you to do just that.
And there is no need or pressure to perform! Feel free to just come along, watch, laugh and support!
Venue: The Banshee Labyrinth (Cinema Room)
Date: 2nd Wednesday of every month
Time: 7:30pm-9.30pm (doors open at 7.00pm)
The show is comprised of two halves.
In the first half, 5, 10 and 15 minute slots are up for grabs (with 15 minute slots going to any big groups who want to try something). Just message the page or post on the event to sign up!
In the second half, there will be a jam! Anyone from the audience who wants to perform can put their name into the box (“Box!”) and names will be drawn at random for two-person scenes, with a huge round of applause at the end of each scene.
Open Improv Night is completely free to attend! We will hold Box (“Box!”) at the end if people would like to contribute cash, but there is no pressure to do so.
The show is relaxed, open to all, and not affiliated with any group.
