ABOUT THE COMEDIANS
Dimitris Dimopoulos is a comedian, librettist, director and translator. He has been performing stand-up comedy since 1996 from “Comedy Nights”, Greece’s first comedy-club, and has since presented three solo shows including “Kafrokrema” which is currently running. He has written librettos for the highly satirical operas “Twilight of the Debts”, “AirRossini”, and “Yasou Aida!”.
His passion for comedy and musical theatre culminated in the creation of the show “Stand-Up Symphony” in cooperation with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra.
Gus Horn is a Brazilian-American comedian currently based in Vienna, Austria. Performing both in English and Portuguese, Gus has brought his witty punchlines to over 10 countries across 3 different continents. A nuclear engineer by day, Gus likes to joke that he manages nuclear waste for a living and tells dirty jokes to live. Gus has opened for Liz Miele, Rafi Bastos, Jessica Williams, and George Wallace.
Kinthia is an actress, director, and writer who often tries to combine these skills through theatrical productions and stand-up comedy. She was born in Athens and loves to play; be that on stage, or basketball, or the violin, or board-games, or the piano, and sometimes even poker. She is also adamant that the most important experiences never make it onto our CVs.
Athina Kefalopoulou, a Greek raised in Russia, Norway, and Scotland, is an actress, sociologist, and general snow person. She delved into performing stand-up comedy in 2019, taking part in the science communication show ‘Science+Comedy’, while she has taken part in numerous productions in Greece and the UK including within the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Athina is the founder of the Athens English Comedy Club.
James Botsas has been performing stand up comedy since 2017. In the last five years he has performed all over Athens, in bars, theaters, and comedy clubs. With his comedy troupe “NaiCoolEkleise”, he has performed all over Greece. He lives in Marousi and has studied film at a community college. In the summer of 2020, Jim also filmed his first sitcom pilot, titled “Closed Friends”.
Asim Basaran is from Turkey. He has worked at an amusement Park in Texas, in two call centers in Greece, as a sales assistant in Tunisia, and as a bartender in Colombia. Since it would be too difficult to make it in this world with his CV, he is now trying his hand at stand up comedy. Before he starts a new job (most likely in another country) this is your chance to watch him in Athens.
- PLEASE NOTE THAT PART OF THIS PERFORMANCE WILL BE FILMED *
